Simple. Intentional. Built for skin like yours.
The 3-Layer Routine
Most skincare routines ask too much of you. Ten steps, fifteen products, and a glossary just to figure out what goes where. We built something different. The KAIKE 3-Layer Routine is three intentional steps, each with a purpose, designed to give melanin-rich skin exactly what it needs from your face all the way down to your body. Follow the sequence. Trust the layers. Let your skin do the rest.
Your Face Routine
Your face processes everything. Pollution, makeup, stress, and the elements all accumulate on the surface and work their way into your pores throughout the day. The face routine clears, targets, and restores in three layers that work in sequence so each step amplifies the one that follows.
Layer 1: Cleanse Your Face
Oil cleansing is the foundation of the KAIKE face routine because it works the way your skin actually functions. Like dissolves like, meaning a botanical cleansing oil dissolves the dirt, excess sebum, and makeup sitting on your skin without stripping the natural oils your skin produces to protect itself. The result is skin that feels genuinely clean and still soft, not tight, not irritated, not overcompensating with more oil an hour later.
Melt, our nourishing oil cleanser, is formulated with a blend of lightweight botanical oils including grapeseed, apricot kernel, and hemp seed, chosen specifically for their compatibility with melanin-rich skin. Use it as your first step every morning and evening.
Who it's for: all skin types, including oily, dry, sensitive, combination, and eczema-prone skin.
How to use: Apply 3-5 pumps to dry skin and massage in circular motions for 1-2 minutes. Remove with a warm damp cloth.
Layer 2: Treat Your Face
This is where your routine gets personal. The Crumb Coat clay mask delivers targeted botanical treatment matched to your specific skin concern. Not one formula trying to do everything adequately, but three distinct formulas each doing one thing exceptionally well.
Green Tea draws out impurities and fights free radicals for oily, acne-prone, and combination skin. Chocolate deeply nourishes and restores radiance for dry, dull, and dehydrated skin. Marshmallow soothes and calms without irritating for sensitive, reactive, and eczema-prone skin.
Clay masks work by attracting and binding to impurities and drawing them out as the mask dries. Melanin-rich skin benefits particularly from this process because it helps prevent the congestion that leads to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Used consistently, your Crumb Coat becomes one of the most effective tools in your routine.
Who it's for: all skin types. Choose your variant based on your primary concern.
How to use: Mix 1 tablespoon of powder with a few drops of warm water to form a paste. Apply a thin layer to clean skin avoiding the eye area. Leave on 10-15 minutes or until dry, then rinse thoroughly. Use 1-2 times per week as a mask, or daily as a gentle cleansing grain.
Layer 3: Condition Your Face
The final layer of your face routine seals everything in. Icing, our facial oil serum, delivers a concentrated blend of botanical oils that absorb quickly and leave your skin with a luminous, healthy finish. No heavy residue. No greasiness. Just your skin, deeply conditioned and protected.
The key to getting the most from Icing is timing. Apply it while your skin is still slightly damp after cleansing or after your Crumb Coat rinse. Damp skin absorbs oil serums significantly faster and more evenly, which means better hydration and a more natural finish.
Who it's for: all skin types. Particularly effective for dry, dull, and hyperpigmentation-prone skin.
How to use: Apply 2-4 drops to clean, slightly damp skin. Press gently into skin and massage until absorbed. Use morning and evening as the final step of your face routine.
Your Body Routine
Your body skin deserves the same intentional care as your face. Ashiness, rough texture, strawberry skin, and persistent dryness are all signs that your body is asking for more. The KAIKE body routine follows the same three-layer philosophy as your face routine, with one adaptation: since we don't currently make a dedicated body cleanser, Layer 1 starts with choosing the right cleanser for your body in the shower before you reach for your KAIKE products.
Layer 1: Cleanse Your Body
The best body cleanser for melanin-rich skin is one that cleans without stripping. Harsh sulfate-based body washes disrupt your skin's moisture barrier and are a common contributor to dryness, ashiness, and irritation, especially for eczema-prone skin. Here's what to look for when choosing a body cleanser:
For dry or ashy skin:
Choose a creamy, hydrating body wash with glycerin or natural oils in the formula. Avoid anything that leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean since that's a sign it's been stripped.
For oily or combination body skin:
A gentle foaming cleanser works well. Look for one with minimal ingredients and no synthetic fragrance.
For sensitive or eczema-prone skin:
Fragrance-free is non-negotiable. Look for cleansers with soothing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera, or ceramides. Avoid antibacterial soaps which are almost always too harsh.
For rough or bumpy skin (KP or strawberry skin):
A mild exfoliating body wash with gentle acids or a simple fragrance-free cleanser pairs well with your Sugar Scrub in Layer 2. Let the scrub do the exfoliation work rather than doubling up with a harsh cleansing formula.

Layer 2: Treat Your Body
This is where your body routine does its most visible work. Sugar Scrub, our exfoliating body polish, uses cane sugar crystals and nourishing botanical oils to buff away dry, rough, and bumpy skin and reveal the softer, smoother skin underneath.
Unlike harsh physical scrubs that scratch the skin's surface, sugar dissolves as you massage, which means you get effective exfoliation without micro-tears or irritation. The botanical oils in the formula condition as you scrub, so your skin feels nourished immediately after rinsing, not raw.
Sugar Scrub is particularly effective for KP and strawberry skin, ingrown hairs from shaving or waxing, ashy or rough elbows and knees, and dull or uneven body skin tone. Use it consistently and the difference is visible within a few weeks.
Who it's for: all body skin types. Use with extra care if you have eczema-prone skin and introduce slowly.
How to use: Apply to wet skin in the shower and massage in circular motions for 1-2 minutes. Focus on rough or bumpy areas. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Use 1-2 times per week.
Layer 3: Condition Your Body
Right after you pat your skin dry is the most important moment in your body routine. Your skin's pores are open and receptive, and applying moisture at this exact point locks in hydration before your skin has a chance to lose it to the air.
Frosting, our whipped body butter, is formulated to absorb quickly without leaving a greasy film. Rich in mango butter, coconut oil, and apricot kernel oil, it delivers deep, lasting moisture that keeps your skin soft between washes. Apply it while your skin is still slightly damp for even better absorption.
For extremely dry or eczema-prone skin, apply Frosting more generously and pay extra attention to elbows, knees, heels, and any areas prone to flaring. Used consistently after every shower, Frosting becomes one of those products your skin starts to depend on in the best way.
Who it's for: all body skin types. Especially effective for dry, ashy, sensitive, and eczema-prone skin.
How to use: Scoop a generous amount and massage into clean, slightly damp skin after showering. Apply as often as needed.
